Lingashtakam is a popular eight-verse hymn in praise of the Shiva linga. Each verse describes the linga and ends with a salutation to Sadashiva.

The verses praise the linga as worshipped by the gods, as the destroyer of sorrow and as the source of all auspiciousness.
When to chant
It is often chanted on Mondays, during Karthika Masam and on Maha Shivaratri, though it can be recited any day.
